Biodiversity is defined in the Merriam Webster Dictionary as: the existence of many different kinds of plants and animals in an environment. Therefore, the definition of cultural diversity is: the existence of many different kinds of people and ways of life in an environment. As the world has industrialized in the recent centuries, biodiversity has been threatened and suffered. Pollution and destruction of the land has caused countless species to fade away. The question at hand is, what does biodiversity have to do with cultural diversity? Is there a relation? The answer is yes. Most of the industrialization happening has been because of dominating Western developed countries. As these cultures expand their technologies, they also expand the reaches of their way of life. Rather, they force their ways of life onto others. As this continues, smaller cultures are lost over time.
